Electronic companies need to make their products safe, long lasting, and be returnable to the company which they originally came from. The reason to this is that people's old products are being transported to where people think they are being recycled, but really there not. They are being transported to just a big pile where the toxins are released into the air, polluting the air, and hurting the people. Some expensive parts are being taken out of the products which is injuring the workers who are taking the pieces out. If unwanted products are recycled backed to the companies then they will not be polluting the air. A major problem in today's generation is that people are getting rid of old electronics because they are out of date and buying new ones, but old electronics have more toxins in them and piling them up in landfills are just releasing the toxins into the air we breathe. Many people are unaware of these problems, but need to be aware so they can help recycle their old electronics. If companies make products recyclable it may cost more, but in the long run your hospital bills from becoming sick from the toxins in the air from electronics will be much more expensive than the increase in price from unhealthy electronics to healthy electronics. If companies do not want to make their products safe by being recyclable or returnable then they need to make them last. They can use the same cords as they progress in making new models. For example more companies should do what Apple and Verizon. Apple uses the same cords for charging and transporting music from a computer to an ipod as Apple comes out with new models. Verizon is using the same charging cord for their different cell phones. I noticed this when I got a new cell phone over the summer and was able to use my old charger for it as well. This is good because both companies are making their products reusable and long lasting .he goal of companies is to make their products safe, long lasting, and recyclable.
